- ★ ★ ★ ★ ★The history lives on, Pappy and Pearl Hoel started it all when they invited motorcycle folks to come to the Black Hills of South Dakota to ride the great roads and to do some racing at the Sturgis 1/2 mile. In 1939 the club was fully organized and the tour and races were some of the first to be sanctioned thru AMA. Today, the Spirt of the tradition continues here at the Jackpine Gypsies Club grounds. - ★ ★ ☆ ☆ ☆Often expensive for the lack of amenities. Cash only operation. Somewhat secluded so come prepared with everything you need. Minimal seating and parking, lower lot can sometimes be too muddy for motorcycles. Other than that the racing is fun.By Peter Sunden, September 07, 2017
